What is PEMF Cellular Exercise?
Technically, PEMF stands for Pulsed Electro Magnetic Field; “PEMF” as a means for improved health began in the late 1800s when the great Serbian-American innovator Nikola Tesla discovered that it was harmless to pass electrical current through the human body—thus the reason magnetic field strength is measured in Tesla (T). Tesla also found that this was completely possible without making contact. The way PEMF works today is simple. A device which emits these electromagnetic pulses runs through a coil applicator. This applicator is placed on or near the area which is injured or somehow damaged. Energy is then induced from the device to the impacted cells, thus providing the client with a number of different benefits.
Again, PEMF in Denver NC is used to support damaged or injured cells. The “pulse” felt by the user of PEMF positively impacts energy within. Using this particular process involves directing powerful, pulsed energy waves toward damaged or injured areas of the client's body. These waves painlessly and quickly pass through the cells to the damaged region, increasing the spin of the electrons contained within them as a result.
It is this amplified electron spinning which restores the cell's potential (its energy), regulating its volume at the same time. And, unlike some other forms of complimentary and alternative medicine, this positive cellular effect lasts for as many as four days after the session has ended. With that, PEMF sessions are: The induction of electricity into the cells to help stimulate or promote the natural healing.
How can PEMF sessions help me?
- Pain Relief
The reason for it: The gentle pulses, during a PEMF session cause chemical reactions at the cellular level by opening channels in the cell membranes. The cell membrane is the cell’s “brain.” It communicates with other cells, and regulates what comes in and goes out, including nutrients, hormones, signaling compounds, and toxins. The membrane has a positive charge on one side and a negative charge on the other. Opposites attract, so it’s the constant electrical activity between these positively and negatively charged ions that open and closes passages in the membrane. This voltage difference between the ions on either side of the cell membrane is called the cell’s “resting potential.” Chronic pain, disease, and damage decrease the resting potential, much like overuse drains the voltage of a flashlight battery.
In the case of chronic pain, a low resting potential allows too many pain signals to enter the cell, promoting inflammation, damage, and ever-increasing levels of pain. PEMF restores the membrane’s electrical balance. This “charging of the battery” blocks incoming pain signals, thus quickly reducing pain and inflammation. This same mechanism allows damaged cells to recover and repair. Repeat sessions (depending on your needs) provide lasting results!
